Nothing is more practical than finding God, that is, than falling in love in a quite absolute, final way. What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination will affect everything. It will decide what will get you out of bed in the mornings, what you will do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, who you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude. Fall in love, stay in love, and it will decide everything.

That's a fabulous quote. Thank you for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteoh, that's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI guess this means I'm in love with writing. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the quote.

It's true. Falling in love opened many doors of perception that I never knew were closed to me to begin with.
ReplyDeleteThose Jesuits! Always carrying on about falling in love!
ReplyDeleteI heard this quote from my mother when I was a teenager disgusted at the mere prospect of love, and again at Gonzaga University where I had a different perspective, but I haven't thought about this quote in a very long time. Pedro Arrupe had many inspiring things to say, and being a Jesuit, he wrote them down. If you're interested I'll find the title of Fr. Arrupe's book when I'm back at my desk.
Thanks for the memories!
How very true. I'm in love with a lot of tings right now. - revising Second Chances, Learning lines for Vagina Monologues, walking, the movie The King's Speech... I plan to be in love with a great many more things and humans
