SUPERZERO, Superbly

Earlier this afternoon, Olugbemisola Rhuday-Perkovich and I conversed on Twitter about Eighth-Grade Superzero. You can view her wonderful book trailer above, with nice little glimpses of Gbemi, Brooklyn, the book, and its characters; and read the Twitter transcript here if you missed the chat itself. Thank you to all who participated!

  1. What a lovely video for a great book :) I enjoyed seeing the sights of New York (very pretty and all the people watching must be so fun and definitely a writer's dream). I especially liked hearing the stories behind the characters (I love Ruthie and I can not wait for her book!!!!! Also, Mialonie is such a pretty name) and learning more about Gbemi who is truly an amazing person.

Thanks for sharing this trailer with us and for condcuting the Twitter interview. I'm sad that I missed it =(

  2. It was nice to hear someone so genuinely share their faith as a part of the writing process. I feel like I have prayed out every word of my WIP and yet that's not something you tell an editor. So props to Gbemi on many levels and props to you for sharing the story here and on printed pages.

On a whole other level, what can the writing world do for Haiti? Any ideas of unique ways to raise money for this and other humanitarian needs around our worldly neighborhood?
