End of Summer Video: Ron's Slip 'n Slide Extravaganza

This has been making the rounds for a while (I first saw it on Five Bucks), but I love it for the sheer ingenuity and utter stupidity of the thing -- it's such a perfectly in-character thing for teenage boys to do. (Note also that Ron names himself "Ron da Con" in the final frame.) And, of course, the slide itself looks like awesome fun. Cowabunga, dudes.

  1. That WAS awesome! "Risk a boy to raise a man." is our motto around here. (Although I try to wince too much when the hub and boy go quad riding and pay homage to Evil Knievel.)

Have you seen The Dangerous Book for Boys? The writer, Conn Iggulden said, "Better a broken bone than a broken spirit." And I agree...

    Wishing for cooler weather,

  3. Looks like something my youngest would do. A few years ago, he and his friends rigged up a bike and practiced doing wheelies on it - off the dock into the canal. I couldn't watch.

  4. Boys. Glad I was one, for feats similar to this; glad I don't have any as kids for the same reason!

  5. Ha--I love this!

My favorite part was when the words, "he's okay" flashed on the screen.

  6. Lots of energy there ... and they could be out doing a lot worse, for sure!

  7. I'm still walking with scars and a limp acquired in stunts attempted in the late 1970's. The downside: it hurt. The upside: I lived. The bottom line: totally worth it!
