Embarrassed Blogmistress Housekeeping Post

Exactly two years ago today, I posted the results of this blog's Thomas Bowdler Fiction Contest, where I promised copies of Second Sight to the winners. One of those winners recently reminded me that she has not received her book -- and of course, neither have the other four, because the whole matter completely slipped my mind. (Apologies, but if you always remember things you promise in blog posts from two years ago, I salute you, for you are a better person than I.)

But I'd now like to fulfill that promise, so:  SusieJ, Lynne, and Jadedmetaphor, I have your addresses, and you should get your books this week. And if Patrick or Monica is still out there, would you kindly send your postal address to the e-mail address available through my website? Thank you.

Also, did I ever mention that I was on Pottercast discussing Second Sight back in June? I was! And there is the link.

[ This space reserved for future things I have forgotten. That is a paradox, and so is this. ]

  1. Hi Cheryl,

My sympathies. One time I wrote something on my hand, determined to not forget it. And when I saw it two hours later, I was completely boggled as to what it referenced. Enjoy your blog :)

  2. Wow, I can't believe it was that long ago! I met you at the Austin SCBWI conference soon after that and you told me, "Congratulations-- you're a really terrible writer!"

I hadn't seen the post here yet, so it was a nice surprise to receive the book today. I've heard it's fabulous and I'm really looking forward to reading it. Thanks so much!

Thanks so much for following up on this.

Out of curiousity, did you get my emails where I updated my address (to McAllen)?

I moved shortly after the contest, so I hope the USPS will still forward to my new home!

    *Fingers crossed*

  5. PS- I feel bad for even asking about the updated address, but I have tried to order your book FOUR times and I have gotten error messages each time. So, I am dying to finally read it! I figured you might want to know about the error messages. It could just be me. Is anyone else having trouble?

  6. Best. writing. book. ever.

I ordered it right away after reading Harold Underdown's review and your discussions of voice and character are really helping sharpen my focus as I work on a new book and contemplate revising an old one. I have been reading (Second Sight) and revising (my WIP) all morning. Thank you!
